The Universal Orlando Resort is going through a major resort-wide expansion that is bringing multiple new attractions, shows, and other great offerings to both theme parks and CityWalk. We are aware of some of the projects that are currently active, while others are still a mystery, like the new attraction that will replace the former Sound-stage 44 (which used to house the Hercules and Xena show).
Wait a minute, am I saying that Universal is finally getting rid of that building? Absolutely. That is why we are dedicating an entire update to this matter. Here you are some photos of the current status of this demolition project (including some pretty nice over-the-walls photos that you don't want to miss):
First of all, the Donkey Live meet-and-greet is completely gone. And we mean that:
Here is what remains of that meet-and-greet:
It is said that there will be a new location to meet Donkey in the near future:
This Sound-stage 44... or at least, what remains of that:
You can even see New York THROUGH the building:
That's a lot of work:
I cannot believe how far they went with the work in just a few days!:
A look inside the Sound-stage, which still seems to have most of its working equipment:
More photos:
Water was being sprayed all over the area:

I wonder what there going to transform the area into.
Interesting word choice Anonymous 1. Some rumors point towards the Transformers ride from Hollywood.
Transformers is not filling that space! The building would be to huge and really putting the same ride in two parks next to each other is pointless!
saying that putting the same ride in two parks next to each other is pointless is not a very strong argument to keep transformers out of universal orlando. Look at jurrasic park and dudley doo right right. They are both pretty much the same ride (flume rides) but with different themes and expierences and they are in the same park
Personally, i think Jerm is right. I've seen the POV videos on youtube for the Transformers ride in Hollywood and Singapore, and it follows exactly the same pattern as Spiderman, e.g. the falling scene at the end. They are too similar, and the building will be so big that it will obstruct views across the park
Johnny you have a point but look at Mummy in Hollywood and the one in Florida, 2 different ride layouts, Look at Hollywoods Jurrasic Park and ours, there are some differences. Who knows, we could get a tottaly different track layout for transformers.
