Busch Gardens: Summer Brings Nightly Fireworks

Some great news just came in from Tampa Bay! This summer is going to be one of the best times ever to visit Busch Gardens Tampa Bay, not only due to all the new rides and experiences that opened in the past two years, but also because the park will host a nightly firework show this year! Here you are more information:

Summer Nights Bring Nightly Fireworks to Busch Gardens Tampa Bay

TAMPA, Fla. (May 29, 2012) - Busch Gardens’ Summer Nights amps up the excitement year after year, and 2012 promises to offer even more after-dark entertainment and fun for the whole family with a new Latin-infused show at the Desert Grill and—for the first time ever—an amazing fireworks finale every night of the event. From June 9 through Aug. 12, guests will experience extended park hours, special entertainment, high-energy DJs, and the thrill of riding world-class coasters in the dark, including Busch Gardens’ new triple-launch coaster, Cheetah Hunt.

But that's not all. Indeed, Adventure Island (Busch Gardens' own water park) will also have extended operating hours - all summer long!:

When the Sun Goes Down, the Fun Heats Up at Adventure Island During Island Nights

TAMPA, Fla. (May 29, 2012) – Adventure Island heats up this summer with a family-friendly sunset celebration during Island Nights. From June 14 to Aug. 11, Busch Gardens’ water park transforms into an island of fun in the sun with live music, eclectic entertainment, tropical wildlife and island-inspired cuisine. Every Thursday, Friday and Saturday night from 5 to 9 p.m., DJs rev up the energy with music, dancing and games on the beach. Street performers, larger-than-life stiltwalkers and a steel drum band keep the celebration going until 9 p.m. each event night.

  1. I really hope that the management remembered that the the park has dozens of animals who will surely NOT enjoy the experience of fireworks going off nearby, and instead are going to use low-noise fireworks. One can only hope.

  2. I agree totally with Tin Toy. Disney won't have a night time finale at Animal Kingdom because the lights / fireworks may affect the animals

I hope Busch Gardens doesn't forget it is still one of the top zoo's in the USA while chasing an imaginary "top theme park" crown.

We have a sad example here in the UK of what happens to a zoo park when the rides take over: Drayton Manor Park & Zoo. Its a great theme park with some top rides but as the ride element has grown, the zoo element has become an afterthought, and is now quite a disgrace. So much so I'm happy to support campaigns to see the zoo element shut down.
I love fireworks / shows / rides as much as the next person but am extremely uncomfortable if there is any chance of them compromising an animals welfare. both can live together harmoniously, lets hope Busch Gardens have taken the correct steps to ensure this
