Islands of Adventure Update: Dudley in Rehab Again

New day, new photo-update. Let's take a quick look at Islands of Adventure today. So, let's see what is going on inside the park:

First of all, the park mentioned that Dudley was closed right before the gates:

Inside the park:

They still have that silly sign in one of the stores' windows:

Some work is being done on the roof of the Confisco Grille:

The park is also working on the roof of the Cinnabon snack point:

It's already spring down here in Florida:

Mythos is looking good:

It is cleaner than usual:

Poseidon's Fury has a truly majestic theming. It still impresses us today:

A crowded Lost Continent:

A look at the Oasis Coolers, now home of the Coke Freestyle Machines:

For more photos of this new snack point, click on this link.

The IOA skyline:

Triceratops Encounter is once again closed (there were reports of the ride being open between December 30, 2011 and January 2, 2012:

Nothing going on there:

Moving on to Toon Lagoon:

The highlight of this update is Dudley Do-Right's Ripsaw Falls, which is currently closed for refurbishment. You will have already noticed that from the title of this update...

A look behind the walls:

The ride closed already on January 1, 2011 after a fire, and it received a fantastic refurbishment. It is now again down for another (shorter) refurbishment since January 3, 2012:

The long walls:

We really hope they will once again repaint the tracks of the ride:

No more water, for the moment:

One of the water cannons was still working (free of charge, of course):

Another look at this long wall, which enclosed the entire Dudley Do-Right's area:

Popeye:

Toon Lagoon in general is looking great:

The Aggro Circus will be coming back for Spring Break:

The wait times:

The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman will soon close for refurbishment:

All the video screens inside the ride will receive a thorough rehab (think HD):

It looks like the city in the background of the attraction's building has been refreshed, but we are not sure:

It does look nicer:

And this is all for now. Thank you for reading, and see you later with an important news about Test Track!

  1. Ripsaw Falls closes at this time every year for seasonal refurbishment (whatever that means exactly). Is Spiderman really closing? They have been changing out the screens periodically without any closings. You can see the difference on a couple of the scenes.

  2. Thanks for the report, James. I was aware of that, but I was thinking that they may briefly close the ride to make all the adjustments they need (I'm sure they will need some downtime to apply all the changes).

  4. Thank you for that, Bigfoot! :-)
It was just a joke, but I can tell you that the weather is beautiful here today (and it looks like it's going to be even better in the next few days)... I surely hope the weather will get better in Italy too!

  5. Hmmm... I wonder why Lost Continent is busy... because its basically a walkway to a particular popular area? It's so odd that you'll report on superheroes & very dark villains, genetically created dinosaurs, etc but not a boy who values bravery and friendship, love and happens to be a wizard. You're missing a trick (pardon the pun) and not representing the park in the best way. You did a huge update on a killer shark, and mention Poseidon (magic!) too.
    Aside from this, great updates.

  6. Thanks for posting the pic of the Hufflepuff pride! Too bad it was spoiled by that silly sign. :P

  8. If anyone running this site or has been to the park within the last week (I went the night before New Year's Eve) can tell me if they've fixed the special effect on Forbidden Journey when a photo of your face is projected into the mist, I'd greatly appreciate it. It wasn't turned on when I went.

  9. Anyone knows when SpiderMan is scheduled to close?

It's a shame that Ripsaw and SpiderMan is going under refurbishment, I'm going to Orlando next week :(

I hope that Rockit to be operating...

  10. @Last Anonymous: Sorry, but we didn't ride that, so we cannot confirm that information. We apologize.

@Raphael Figueiredo: Just to make it clear, the temporary closure of The Amazing Adventures of Spiderman has not been confirmed, and it is just speculation at this time. They have already started working on the attraction, so they may decide not to close the ride for the refurbishment. We will keep you up-to-date, don't worry!
