Work on Magic Kingdom's biggest-ever expansion are proceeding really fast, and this means that they have to start working on the landscaping of the area. For this reason, a new set of trees (very probably oaks, even though we were so busy taking pictures that we didn't even stop to check) has been planted right in front of Beauty and the Beast's area. Let's take a look at them:

As you can see, the new trees have been planted right behind the soon-to-be-former location of Dumbo:

It is important to note that these are not temporary trees planted in buckets; these are here to stay:

Their trunk is still wrapped up:

They've also been numbered, it seems:

A general look at the are (which will look much more different very soon):

A look at the trees from the ground:

The temporary walls have had to be moved to allow the trees to be planted:

These trees will no doubt enhance the overall feel of the area, which already looks truly fantastic:

And here's a look of the area with these new trees, as seen from the satellite (courtesy of Bing Maps):

So many things have changed since that satellite picture was taken. Oh, the memories!

And, that is all, for now. A complete Fantasyland update will be posted soon, so stay tuned!

I'm confused. Isn't the last picture trees from before the expansion because you can still see ariel's grotto.

@Anonymous: Yes, that photo is very old, but it was the only one available to explain the current location of these new trees. That photo was taken in or before 2010.

Why did you circle other, pre-existing trees in another area then? :)

Sure wish they would have used pines rather than oaks.
