Epcot Testing Again New Entry Procedures (Nov. 2011)

Epcot has just started to test again a new entry system that will allow guests to enter the park more quickly:

Epcot - Main Entrance Test November 13-27, 2011

As part of a test, a round sticker featuring Mickey Mouse will be affixed to selected Guests' existing ticket (including Key to the World cards and annual passes), [which will allow] Guests to tap [their own] tickets at designated locations at the Epcot main entrance to provide easier and faster access to the park.
This entry system could give Guests the ability to enter the park as a group, without separating from members of the party who have strollers or wheelchairs.
The actual technologies [being tested] may or may not end up in [the] parks.
Guests who do not wish to participate can proceed to the regular turnstiles to enter the park.

This sounds like a very interesting test. This same system was already tested some time ago, as we reported.

What do you think? Would you like to be able to cut the time you wait to get into the parks? If you usually come during the holidays, you are surely used to find some quite long lines... and that's just the beginning of the day! If implemented in the parks, we are sure it would help quite a bit on this regard.

  1. I think entry would go a LOT quicker if (A) they opened up more turnstiles and (B) removed the ridiculous "security checkpoints".

However, that being said, I am all for anything that speeds up the entry process!
