The Disney Look... to the Past! (Oct. 29-Nov.4)

The Disney Look... to the Past (September 24-30)
It is Monday once again, therefore it is time to check out a new edition of our weekly feature - The Disney Look to the Past! Let's go back in time to see what happened years ago inside the Walt Disney Company:

This Week in Disney History: October 29 - November 4

Nov. 3, 1998 — Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin opens at Magic Kingdom Park
The Evil Emperor Zurg and his robotic army are stealing batteries from the galaxy’s toys and it’s up to Buzz Lightyear and Star Command’s junior Space Rangers (that’s you) to stop them. Climb into an XP-37 space cruiser, aim your laser cannon and fire away at the “Z” targets as you glide across the cosmos. It’s like a giant video game, and your ship is keeping score, so use the spin control to zero in on targets and mess with your co-pilot/opponent. You’ll need to be an ace shooter to reach “Galactic Hero” status at 999,999 points, unless you did your homework and found out about the “secret” targets. Inspired by the opening sequence of “Toy Story 2,” the Omnimover attraction is located in the former home of If You Had Wings and even makes use of its ellipsoid-screened “speed room.” Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters at Disneyland Park takes the adventure to the next level with new targets and online play, while Toy Story Mania at Disney California Adventure Park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios offers a 3-D, spring-loaded twist with multiple games and characters from Pixar’s “Toy Story” trilogy.
