Fantasyland Update - Bay Lake Tower Photos & More

Even though it had been raining for quite a bit, we ventured to the Magic Kingdom to take some pictures of the current work being done in the Fantasyland area of the Magic Kingdom. Let's take a look at what has changed.

We'll start our update with some pictures taken from the top of Bay Lake Tower:

It started raining quite hard, so we couldn't take good pictures:

An overview of the Beauty and the Beast's area:

A bird was staring at Space Mountain:

...thinking about going to space...

...maybe not.

Now, let's take a look at some pictures taken from inside the park, starting from the Skyway, which still hasn't received any further change or addition:

The water has assumed a stronger green coloration:

No, nothing new to report:

The sky was promising some more rain:

The "It's a Small World" facade really needs to be refurbished again:

Take a close look:

It is literally crumbling:

They should get rid of these fake tents. They already look pretty bad when they are freshly painted, imagine how they look when they are like this:

Work on Pinocchio's Village Haus' roof is almost done:

Now they're focusing on the other side of the Village Haus:

Repaving still in progress near Prince Charming Royal Carousel:

Work on the new castle walls continue:

The Beauty and the Beast's area:

The roof of Belle's Cottage is really coming along:

The beautiful Beast's Castle:

A look at the Little Mermaid's area:

A big hole has now appeared inside the Little Mermaid's building:

Yep, this is the back of the fake rock formation that will be seen inside the ride!:

Some higher-resolution photos of the area we are talking about:

Working equipment can be seen all over the place:

Some work is being done near Dumbo:

They're probably preparing the area for the castle walls:

Storybook Circus:

Work also continues on the Enchanted Grove:

...and then it started to rain again, so we had to take shelter, of course.
This means that our update is over. Thank you very much for viewing, and have a wonderful rest of the day!

  1. Beast's castle certainly looks in its element in that sort of weather. I love the dark feel. I wish we got a better view of the iconic bridge. I kind of wish they had lowered the rock work around it so we could have a view similar to that of Hogwart's viaduct. I'd imagine that would throw off the forced perspective though.

  2. Hi Sam
The hole at Mermaids is right at the end where the meet-and-greet with Ariel will be.

  6. Seeing the tents on it's a small world cracked makes me nervous about the roofs of Beast's castle. They aren't shingled. They're a solid material...Maybe they'll be sturdier?
