Universal Studios - Low Season Means Big Changes (2)

Here we are with part 2 of this huge Universal Studios Florida Update (for PART 1, please, click here).

This is a quite rare sight:

The fire hydrant has rarely been open in the past few years:

INTERESTING RUMOR: Did you like Universal 360, the park's nighttime spectacular? If you did, say goodbye, as it seems like they're completely removing the globes and their supports:

No, they're not refurbishing it:

Everything is going to be gone soon:

Here's the proof:

BEFORE:

NOW:

One of the globes is COMPLETELY GONE already:

This could mean great news about the future of the park's nighttime shows. Will they bring a brand-new spectacle soon? We sure hope so!:

Stage 44, still nothing new here:

The Fast Five cars are not gone. They've just been relocated in another area of the park:

Now, they will restore the former photo-op:

I would really like to see the "Cafe La Bamba" returning:

Inside, it still looks great:

Some minor work is being done in the Garden Villas:

They are replacing the doors, as you can see:

Theses are just painted pieces of wood:

Nothing new in the location of the old Hard Rock Cafe:

The Simpsons:

Fear factor was closed. Good news:

The Fast Five cars have been relocated next to fear factor's entrance:

Jaws' entrance is becoming really confusing with all these signs. Go here, go there...

Minor work near Richter's Burgers:

Good news - they're finally getting back to work on the old handrails of the San Francisco area:

Behind the walls:

The arcade seems to have a new sign:

  2. I too hope Cafe La Bamba returns.

What was in Stage 44? How long has it been vacant?

  3. @Anonymous #2: Stage 44 was first home to a show based on the "Murder, She Wrote" television series. After some years, the attraction got replaced by a show based on the "Hercules and Xena" series. Many years ago, even that show got closed down, and the building has been sitting empty since them. The only thing they can do is completely demolish it, and replace it, as we've heard some rumors saying that there are very bad issues on the roof of the structure, that make it impossible to be used "as is"...
We'll keep you up-to-date with any eventual news about the subject, don't worry!

  4. I'm really glad they are removing Universal 360. I went for New Years Eve 2 years ago and that was the most uneventful night-time event ever. I couldn't believe I waited around for 3 hrs in the cold for that. Hope they come up with something better.

    Thanks for the update!
