Magic Kingdom Update - Interactive Elements Abound

Even though we're still in the middle of the D23 Expo, we found it nice to post a Magic Kingdom update, just to make your "Disney-focused weekend" even more interesting. This week, we'll see some additional, minor work on some of Magic Kingdom's buildings, as they are prepared to house some special effects for the new interactive game, which should be coming very soon to the park.

Let's take a look around the park, as usual starting from the very beginning - the entrance:

Work is still underway on the right entrance tunnel, that leads to Main Street U.S.A.:

The theater:

No more ads of Bambi's DVD on the Emporium's shop window:

Noe there are miscellaneous items:

Going toward the Magic Kingdom castle:

Some pictures of the park's great landscape:

Going through Adventureland's bridge:

The Fairies are very busy, especially since they moved here in Adventureland:

The exit of the new meet-and-greet:

A new directional sign indicates where to find the Disney fairies:

The "Swiss Family Treehouse" will soon close for a long refurbishment. Great to hear that they're taking care of this classic Disney attraction:

Near the entrance to the Treehouse, one of the area's facades has received a new interactive element, which will work once the new interactive game will officially open at the Magic Kingdom:

You can clearly see the speaker under the refurbished window. I wonder if Tinkerbell or other Fairies will show up behind the window, since they're meeting guests nearby:

The fantastic "Walt Disney's Enchanted Tiki Room" (if you want to see more pictures of the new show, CLICK HERE. If you want to see the full video of the show, CLICK HERE!):

The Tiki statues are finally working again:

In the Caribbean Plaza, another new interactive window has appeared some weeks ago, and some more thematic elements have been added, like a box of the "East India Company":

Really nice:

The Pirates of the Caribbean ride was down due to a technical problem:

Work continues on the passage between Frontierland and Adventureland:

Work is being done on the roof too:

In Frontierland, some sections of the wooden fence around "Pecos Bill" have been replaced:

You can clearly see the difference between the old and the new fence:

Work also continues on Pecos Bill's facade:

And, the refurbishment of the Frontierland Shootin' Arcade is well underway:

Inside, everything has been removed:

Some very minor work on the Diamond Horseshoe's columns:

Some more interactive elements, coming to Liberty Square:

The Tomorrowland Terrace is back to its seasonal operation, and the Fireworks Dessert Party is back too:

Saying goodbye:

Work continues outside the park's gates, on the bus shelters:

Some new trees have strangely appeared in a maintenance area near the bus entrance:

They must be hiding something important, as we rarely seen so many temporary trees in that area:

Oh, the things you can see near the entrance to the Contemporary Resort...

Even ducks crossing the road. That was great:

Phew! They're safe!:

Thank you very much for viewing! Have a great rest of the day!

  4. I talked to a Cast Member today about the Shooting Arcade. He said the walls will be down in September. The Pirates of the Caribbean "window" is now covered up with some tiles and the box has been removed.

Keep up the great work! :)

  8. @Anonymous: No, don't worry, it was just a piece of wood. All the ducks made it on the other side of the road!

@Amy-Vocalist: Unfortunately, Disney hasn't released the news about this new interactive game, therefore it is still a mystery when it will open. It may take a few more months, though...

  10. Looks like you might be able to see behind all those temporary trees from inside (or on top of) the Contemporary. If anyone is staying there and has a picture, please send it in! ;-)
