Dave & Buster's Orlando - Grand Opening Day (Part 1)

A brand-new restaurant has opened along International Drive, one of the most important visitors corridor of Central Florida, but this is not your typical chain restaurant. Indeed, it is a Dave & Buster's location, which means that there you can "eat, drink, and play" at the same time! Well, maybe you should first eat and drink, and then play, otherwise, it could end up being a bit of a mess...

Anyway, the much-anticipated grand opening day of the new Dave & Buster's has finally arrived. It was yesterday, Monday, July 18, 2011. We were not able to enter through the majestic atrium of this new, great building exactly when it opened, around 11 a.m., but it looked like they did not hold any special opening day party or celebration. They just opened to the public, like it was a normal day. But, for those of us who had never seen a Dave & Buster's restaurant before, it didn' matter. We just wanted to check out the place, and so we did.

To avoid spending too much time talking, let's dive right into our pictures:

The look of the exterior of the building is quite unusual:

It looks more like a piece of modern art, you know, like a squared sculpture:

this doesn't mean it looks bad. it is just very different from the nearby buildings (just next to them, there's one of the best-themed Olive Garden restaurants):

The Restaurant's logo:

The new LED screen, which advertises the latest offers:

Some examples:

One of the most particular areas that the building has is the covered parking, which is right beneath the main floor, with the arcade and the restaurant:

The covered parking can be considered a blessing during the hot, summer days!:

A side-view of the building:

Almost all the sides of the building have a glass wall, with stairs. The unusual thing? The main guest areas have very little natural light!:

The Main Entrance:

A great thing that stood out right when we entered through the main door is that the staff is very, very friendly!:

The glass atrium is quite nice:

It is accessible to people with special needs thanks to a set of elevators, located just behind the stairs.

The rotating D&B sign is very effective too. It adds movement to the area:

Dave & Buster's donated $15,000 to a not-for-profit organization. Very commendable:

Would you like to go in? then don't miss PART 2 of this new Dave & Buster's Update!
