Aquatica - OTPN's Official Review

In the past, if people were to ask me which of the water parks we have in Orlando is the best, I would have answered "Well, Typhoon Lagoon, I believe". The "I believe" already showed my insecurity, as I had not visited any other water park in the area, but I based my answer on the attendance that the park had seen (Disney's Typhoon Lagoon is the most visited water park in the world).

Now, things have changed. I have visited Typhoon Lagoon, and let me tell you, it is amazing. But there's another water park that we visited only a couple of weeks ago, that really amazed us: AQUATICA.

Aquatica is really one of the most complete water parks we've ever seen: it has great family rides, children rides and thrilling slides for the ones that like speed. One of the true highlights of the park is without any doubt the rapids ride, called "Roa's Rapids". Once you get in, you can't get out, for multiple reasons. First of all, the rapids are extremely fun, so much that you would never want to get out. Second, the water temperature of the rapids is absolutely perfect. You will never had to leave because you're cold. Never. Third, the current is so powerful that you may miss the exits! When that happens, it makes the experience even more fun!

Other highlights of the park include the slide through the Commersons Dolphins exhibit, the "Dolphin Plunge"; the lazy river, "Loggerhead Lane"; the huge, double-sized wave pool; and also an extremely fun castle-like structure where both young and old have fun with cannons that shot water, waterfalls and many interactive elements, called "Walkabout Waters". But now, let's take a look around the park!:

The park's characters:

The entrance:

One of the only negative things of AQUATICA is that they don't have park maps you can hold. They only have stand-alone park maps, like this one:

The "Dolphin Plunge" slide:

That pool you see there houses the Commersons Dolphins:

And that's the great  lazy River, called "Loggerhead lane". To tell the truth, it is quite short, but the fact that you can see tropical fish and the dolphins, along with this fun waterfall (that gets you stuck, really great) makes this attraction something you don't have to miss. Oh, and you can decided whether you want to get out or stay in!:

Depite the high number of slides, some queues were somewhat long, as the park is really popular. Of course, after  while it started to rain, therefore many had to leave:

Waterstone Grill is one of the three restaurants of the park, which is open until park close:

It offers hamburgers and other on-the-grill specialties:

Another restaurant, the Mango Market, which offers light sandwiches:

There are free life-vests all over the park:

One of the two wave pools:

Their newest water slide: "Omacka Rocka":

"Kata's Kookaburra Cove" is the extensive area dedicated to very young kids (younger than 5 years of age):

The fantastic "Roa's Rapids" (nobody was in the water due to an approaching afternoon thunderstorm):

At "Taumata Racer" you get to race against your friends (or against other guests of the park):

Your score:

The lush tropical setting is really great:

Thank you very much for viewing, and we hope you'll have a great weekend!

  1. Great pictures to such an awesome park. Can I ask why there aren't any frequent photo updates to any Orlando water parks?

  2. AAAAAMMMMMMMMMMAAAAAAAZZZZZZZZIIIIIIIIIIINNNNNGGGGGGGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!!!

I love this park!!!! Wow... i Love this report... ok... wait... I need to calm down!!!

First of all, this park was an incredible surprise, even because after some article on the open day, none news was published anywhere.
But when we was there, believe me, we passed a great time!!! Our first Orland's water park was Typhon lagoon that with its incredible giant wave become the most beautiful waterpark in my life! our second waterpark was Wet & Wild and this was and incredible delusion! It was unthematized, dirty, moldy... bleah... it sucks!
Se after 2 year we came back to Orlando and we decide to try this park within many doubt after the terrible experience of W&W but just after we entered in the park, it gave us a great surprise: it was cool, fun, clean, with many disposable people... a great great park!!!

@Anonymous: I think there aren't frequent photo updates to any Orlando water parks because the water park evolve much more slow than the Amusement park and is a bit repetitive post ever the same picture.
And you also consider the difficulty to take picture full surrounded by the water!

Thank you Sam.... Thank you very much.... you make me very very happy after watch this picture!!!!

  3. Thank you very much for the comments, Anonymous and Bigfoots!!

And, as Bigfoots rightly said, we don't usually post waterpark updates because theme park have many more new developments at the moment, but when the new Aquatica expansion will start, we will increase our waterpark updates, don't worry!

Also, thanks for sharing you very interesting experience, Bigfoots!
