Beneath the Surface: The Making of "One Ocean" - Education

The third video in our series “Beneath the Surface” highlights how “One Ocean” educates and inspires guests to protect the world we share.

The show’s national debut at SeaWorld Orlando on Earth Day - April 22 - is intended to bring a heightened awareness and appreciation for the world we share. SeaWorld’s conservation work spans the globe and “One Ocean” aims to communicate that commitment while delivering an entertaining show experience.
“Education and conservation have always been at the core of who we are,” notes curator of animal training Kelly Flaherty Clark. “We want guests to the new show to be both entertained and inspired to help make a difference.”
Over the past 40 years, SeaWorld has helped over 18,000 orphaned, injured or ill animals, many of them marine animals impacted by issues like pollution.
“By making a decision to recycle or not throw garbage into the water, one person can make a difference for the oceans and the planet we share,” says Flaherty Clark. “It’s this mission that inspired us throughout the making of “One Ocean.”
“One Ocean” opens at SeaWorld Orlando this Friday, April 22; SeaWorld San Diego on Memorial Day weekend and SeaWorld San Antonio in June.
