Beneath the Surface- The Making of SeaWorld's "One Ocean" - Whale Behaviors
The fourth video in our series “Beneath the Surface” delves into some of the new whale behaviors in the “One Ocean” show.

A new musical score and set enhancements such as fountains provided an opportunity for SeaWorld trainers to work with the whales on new behaviors. Positive reinforcement and a strong relationship between trainer and whales helped integrate behaviors with some of the new show elements. Go backstage with trainers as they work with our family of killer whales. “One Ocean” is now open at SeaWorld Orland…

Miscellaneous Work Around Orlando

Just to make you aware of other minor work around some of Orlando's restaurants/areas:
The Bahama Breeze restaurant near Downtown Disney's area is receiving its new roof:

Universal Orlando's New Hints on Future Project

Universal Orlando has given us an interesting, new hint on their future additions, coming in 2012, that will replace "Jimmy Neutron's Nicktoon Blast". Take a look at what they posted on their official Facebook page: _____________________________________________________________
... For our next UORHint, we're talking colors. We know which of these is our favorite color,

but which is yours? [After this hint, they posted the following pictures:]

Busch Gardens Tampa: Cheetah Hunt's Full Test

The day has finally come! Cheetah Hunt, Busch Gardens' newest, ultra-themed coaster has finally made a complete circuit on the brand-new track! It looks fantastic, and it is really difficult to think that we're still a month away from its official grand opening.
But, would you like to see the testing of this great coaster by yourself? Then, take a look at this video, uploaded by Busch Gardens Tampa (NOTE: The trains are still not at a full speed, as they're still being tested. Full speed will be reached once the coaster officially opens, so don't be misled by the apparent "slow" speed of the trains):

Nice job, Busch Gardens. It looks like it's going to be a great ride! We can't wait to check it out, very soon!

Dave & Buster's update - April 28th, 2011

Wondering if any progress was mad on the new Dave & Buster's restaurant? Well, here's your weekly photo update! The building may still look the same, but the exterior painting has gone very far now:
NOTICE: When taking these pictures, I, the photographer, was not driving! Please, remember to always pay attention to the road while driving!

Fun Spot Parks Planning More Major Rides?

As you know, Fun Spot's Attractions are really expanding their offerings. First, they announced three new attractions for Fun Spot U.S.A.: one was a minor flat ride (the Screaming Eagle), the other two were major additions which are not open yet, a new arcade and a new wild mouse coaster, the Galaxy Spin, directly from the now-closed Cypress Gardens. After a while, they announced a major expansion of their Orlando park, Fun Spot Action Park.
But it looks like they're just starting to make their parks even better. Take a look at this very interesting new post, that is found directly on Fun Spot's official blog: _______________________________________________________________________________
Surveys, Surveys, Surveys
Over this past weekend over 200 people were randomly surveyed in our two parks. The consensus seems to be that people would like us to add more water rides and water play areas. People want roller-coasters also. But should we get a wooden coaster, or a steel coas…

The Revamped LEGO Store at DTD: Photos

Orlando Thrill Park: Why it Should Not Happen

That is a shocking title, right? We're aware that the the project for the park has recently been rejected, but the company that is behind this project (dubbed OTP Group, LLC,) has still time to find another piece of land that would be more suitable for their project, which includes, as you may know, almost 15 thrill rides, including large coasters.
But, why have we changed idea? Why don't we want this park anymore? Well, an Orlando Sentinel article opened our eyes. Indeed, the article "Retooled Star Tours to draw a crowd", other than talking about Disney's Hollywood Studios' new ride, includes some tidbits about the Orlando Thrill Park, and quotes some statements made by one of the co-owners of the OTP Group LLC.
Here's the part of the article that really captured our attention, as it sounds complete nonsense: _________________________________________________________________________

Fun Spot U.S.A. and Fun Spot Action Park have recently posted two new commercials to advertise their parks. We want you to see them to, and to tell us your opinion. Who knows, it may help them for their future new commercials! They've posted two ads: one that takes place during the day, one takes place at night.
NOTE: You may notice that the quality of the videos is low, and we apologize for that, but there seems like there are no high-definition videos of these commercials.
Enjoy the videos, and then, please, consider participating in our small poll, at the end of this post. Thanks!:

The Disney Look... to the past! (April 23-29)

It's Monday once again, and it's therefore time to take a look back... back to the Disney Past!:

This Week in Disney History: April 23-29

April 26, 2008 - "Walt & El Grupo" premieres at the San Francisco Film Festival In 1941, as "Pinnochio" and "Fantasia" failed to deliver the box office success of "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs," Walt Disney dealt with financial hardships at his fledgling studio and a fractured animation department that had struck against him. Meanwhile, President Franklin Roosevelt was increasingly concerned about the rise of Nazi and Fascist influences in South America, and he called upon Walt to take a cultural "goodwill tour" of the continent. Using it as a research opportunity for possible story projects, Walt brought a group of 16 all-star studio staffers and artists _ El Grupo, as they dubbed themselves. "Walt & El Grupo" tells the story of their ten-week trip through vivid h…

The E.T. Adventure: On-ride PHOTOS

As promised some time ago, here you are some on-ride photos of one of the best dark rides ever created:

The E.T. Adventure
It is currently located only here, in Universal Studios Florida. It was originally also part of Universal Studios Hollywood and Universal Studios Japan, but it was later replaced in both parks. We're very lucky to have the very last version of this fantastic ride, and we would like to keep it, at least for twenty more years.

The experience begins with a seemingly un-themed outside queue, which has some LCD televisions where guests can see some of the actors of the original film talking about their experience. Then, we move to another un-themed are, this time inside. A blast of cold air makes you feel like you're up north... then, a pre-show starts, where Steven Spielberg tells you what to do to save E.T.'s dying planet and reassures you that "you don't have to pedal".

Later, you enter a third, bare room where guests receive their "Inte…

The British Invasion leaving Epcot on April 30th, 2011

Yes, that infamous rumor that has been floating around for days was true, unfortunately. The British Invasion, one of the best entertainment bands that have worked at the U.K. pavilion (at Epcot) for the past 15 years, is going to leave very soon. Too soon. Here's what a member of the British Invasion wrote on the band's official Facebook Page: _________________________________________________________________________
To Our Fans.
First thanks to all the fans of the British Invasion for all their support over the years!! It has been an honor to perform for you and Disney all these years! We have given our notice to Disney Talent and Casting that we wouldn't be playing after April 30th some time ago. We will be back to play at Disney from time to time... and you will find those future dates posted on the British Invasion Facebook page!! Stay tuned for a british invasion fan appreciation party in May and details of our first concert appearance in downtown Orlando on May 14th.

Guests can certainly enjoy all the fun of Magic Kingdom Park without this background, but the 2.5- to 3-hour walking tour will give one a deeper appreciation of some of the turning points in the life of the man who dreamed it all into being.

Universal Orlando Gives Hints on New Ride

"One Ocean" Debuts at SeaWorld - Photos & Videos

We're all One World. One Ocean.
That's the message that the new SeaWorld Orlando wants to share with the viewers of its brand-new show that debuted just yesterday morning, called "One Ocean".
Today, we're going to see how the stadium has changed since the old show, "Believe", was replaced (it was still playing two days ago, can you believe it?), and in particular, we're going to see if "One Ocean" is just as great as the original "Believe", the one that we all loved. To support all we say, we're including photos of the area, together with some videos of the pre-show and the full-length video of the entire show!
We'll start with a column where we'll share our personal opinion on the show (we'll try to include very few spoilers, but if you go and watch the video afterwards, it'll be worthless); then, we'll see some pictures of the stadium and the area in general. Finally, we'll see some videos. Ready? Let&#…

Dave and Buster's update and more (April 22, 2011)

As usual, we have a nice update on the work of the new Dave & Buster's Restaurant, along with other minor work nearby. Check out the photos below:

Brazilian Pavilion to Be Added to World Showcase?

After reading the title of this post, many of you will have already thought "Yes, of course...." Well, I am as skeptic as you are, since World Showcase has not received a new pavilion in more than two decades (the last pavilion that was added, Norway, joined World Showcase in 1988... Can you believe that?). Anyway, it looks like this time it MAY be the right time to add something.
According to a Brazilian newspaper article, translated by the Epcot Encyclopedia web site, Brazil is going to add their own pavilion at Epcot. That is one of the greatest honors a country can receive, and it looks like Brazil is willing to pay for it, since they say that "the government forecast is for a big comeback in tourism," with the addition of this new pavilion at Epcot. So, they think that adding the pavilion will help "advertise their beautiful country. I would also add that, since we have a lot of Brazilian guests in the parks here in Florida, it will also make them feel more …

Magic Kingdom Update - New, Minor Additions

Are you ready to discover a lot (really, a lot) of minor, yet interesting news from this ever-changing theme park? Then, let's start right away, with our newest Magi Kingdom update!

Orlando Thrill Park Plans Rejected by the City

All coaster enthusiasts will be quite sad to hear that the Orlando Thrill Park project, a new theme amusement park with 15 rides (almost all being record-breaking roller coasters), has been rejected yesterday. The plan was considered not suitable for the area, according to the Tangelo Park residents, as they stated that the noise and the traffic that the park would have brought was going to be unbearable. Here's an artistic rendering of what the park would have looked like:

You may have noticed from that rendering (that has been re-worked to please the nearby residents of the Tangelo park) that they planned to add many layers of trees and plants, a small lake with beautiful fountains, and a huge wall to keep the noise away. In addition to that, the OTP group also agreed on building the parking structures on the southern end of their land, to make their rides even further away from the nearby houses. It didn't work.
If you would like more in-depth about the current situation o…

As every week, we present to you a glimpse of the things that have interested the Disney World, Lands and Company on this same week... in the past: ___________________________________________________________________
This Week in Disney History: April 16-22

April 22, 1964 - The New York World's Fair opens  Held in Flushing Meadows Park in the borough of Queens, the 1964 World's Fair was emblematic of the can-do spirit of the Space Age and the promise of tomorrow. But theme park aficionados know it as the place where Walt Disney perfected ride and show technology that still amazes guests to this day, as evidenced in the four attractions he built for the fair. "it's a small world" was a hopeful salute to the children of the world, while the Carousel of Progress followed a family embracing modern conveniences from the turn of the century through the present. The PeopleMover ride system debuted in the Magic Skyway attraction, where riders took a spin through time…

The Making of "One Ocean" - The Music

SeaWorld Orlando is publishing a series of videos that provides fans the opportunity of seeing the "behind-the-scenes" of how the new show "One Ocean" came to be.

This week, we'll take a look at the composition of some of the new musics that will debut in the new show (when it will premiere, on April 22, 2011). It is said that none of the musics of "Believe" will be reused.
Take a look:

It looks like a great start, right? We can't wait to see the new show, this Friday! Will any of you miss "Believe"?
