The Carousel of Progress - VIDEO

If you have ever had the great opportunity of visiting the magic kingdom here in Orlando, Florida, you know that there are many original attractions that have been open since the park's first years.
One of these is "The carousel of Progress", which has been open since 1975, and has been performing since then. It was first moved from the 1964 New York's World Fair to Disneyland in California. Then, in 1973 it closed at Disneyland and was moved to the Magic Kingdom, where it still stands today.

Here you are a complete ride-through video of this great show, divided in two parts:

- PART 1 -

- PART 2 -

So, what do you think about it? I personally love it, but after a while, i do think that it gets a bit repetitive. I would like them to renew the last scene, as it looks mostly contemporary, rather than futuristic. Also, I would love to see some small additions to the loading and unloading scenes (something minor, of course, but more than just the logo of the attraction. After all, we spend there two minute or more).

  1. I'd love to see the Carousel of Progress get a true update.

Literally redo the entire thing, but keep the story the same. Build some of the best animatronics ever for the show, like the ones used it most recent attractions. (Cept the yeti for obvious reasons :P)
Basically make the attraction a brand new attraction with the same story and theme. I think Walt's idea of watching a family experience changes through out time is a great idea. But we don't have to keep using the same old technology for this ride.

  2. I'd love it if they actually took it back to the original ride.

I've always wondered what the last stage looked like during the worlds fair.

It would be great to see the tomorrow that we thought would be.
