Triceratops Discovery Trail is... TEMPORARY?

Screamscape has reported today an Orlando Sentinel article that gives us a pretty sad hint about Triceratops Discovery trail's future. Here's part of the article, from the Orlando Sentinel:

Universal dusts off IOA Triceratops

For the first time in at least five years, Universal Orlando last week flipped the "on" switch at its "Triceratops Discovery Trail" in the Jurassic Park section of Islands of Adventure.

The walk-through attraction takes guests through to a triceratops paddock where they meet a life-sized, animatronic version of the three-horned dinosaur. The attraction sometimes includes a meeting with a baby triceratops, as well.

A spokesman for Universal said the attraction will be open only temporarily and that the resort is testing the experience with guests.

The move also adds a bit of extra capacity to the Islands of Adventure theme park, which is expecting enormous crowds during the Christmas-to-New-Year's vacation break [...].

Well, that's a sad news. It means that by January 2nd, the attraction may close once again, until the next vacation break (if they want to!). I really hope that they mean that it's in its TEMPORARY STAGE now, and that they will work on it, so that visitors can experience it year-round... What do you think?

  1. I find that hard to believe. Just way too much money for it to be just temporary. Plus it was really extensive work.

  3. I actually haven't seen this attraction so I can't comment on quality. But I'm all for the more attractions open the better(in most cases). So if this is true sounds like a capacity upgrade, and just another case of parks giving the A+ effort for high season and something less for the rest of the year.

  4. Why do parks always do this?!?
Stop closing down rides and attractions and leaving them empty and unused!
Why not just redesign it into an interactive walkway? Like Disney's Jungle Cruise only on foot. Make it feel like your really truly inside Jurassic Park.
