What a beautiful castle...

The Cinderella Castle is always beautiful... Don't believe me? Look at these photos (all true, taken by myself, no retouching):

Is Australia on Animal Kingdom's horizon?

This topic has been around since some years now, but yesterday, The Disney Blog said that Australia is almost confirmed. It may finally come to Disney's Animal Kingdom in the near future  Here's part of the article wrote by the blog (to read the whole story, please go to the original article, that contains more info): ______________________________
G’Day Mate! Australia coming to Disney’s Animal Kingdom
I first reported on the development of a new land at Disney’s Animal Kingdom based on the continent of Australia back in October of 2007. It was shortly after that when the housing bubble popped for good and the house of cards banks had built on home mortgages came tumbling down threatening to take the world’s economy with it. At that point Disney turtled and postponed a number of projects until a time when the economy returned to better.
That time appears to be now. [...] Yep, work on the rumored Australia section of the park has reportedly been approved. Although I have not yet …

New photos of the Disney Dream's interiors

Some great photos of the newest Disney ship, the Disney Dream have been recently released by the Disney Parks Blog, and here you are them:

A sad day for Universal Orlando

Yesterday it has been a very sad day for Universal Orlando, as the Vice-president of the resort, Jan Stratton died, just at 54 years old. She also worked for the Walt Disney Company for many years. More information about this tragic event, from the Orlando Sentinel: ______________________________
Jan Stratton, Universal Orlando vice president, dies at 54
Jan Stratton, an executive at Universal Orlando and mainstay of local charitable and civic groups, died Sunday after being removed from life support. She was 54.
Orange County deputy sheriffs responded to her Bay Hill home about 11 a.m. Saturday after a family member reported a self-inflicted gunshot wound, sheriff's spokesperson Jim Solomons said.
She was transported to Orlando Regional Medical Center, where she died.
Stratton was vice president of community and diversity relations at Universal Orlando, responsible for the company's charitable giving, community events and minority relations.
"Jan Stratton's fingerprints were…

The American Heritage Gallery has reopened

After being down for refurbishment for some months (since summer 2010), the American Heritage Gallery - a small exhibit inside the American Adventure pavilion at Epcot - has reopened, showing new artifacts and stories. This time, the exhibit focus more on the characters that are featured (or SHOULD have been featured) in the attraction and other important figures of the American History.

More Disney buses being added?

Many new buses are being added to the huge Disney Transportation fleet. They are really nice, and you can tell very easily that they're newer. A few of them have been around since 2003, but now I have seen many more being around the resort. Here you are some pictures of one of them:

Downtown Disney November 2010 update

Finally, after many months, here you are a new update of the Downtown Disney area! Let's see what has changed in the past few months!:
What a beautiful weather we are having in these months! I LOVE FLORIDA:

Kouzzina by Cat Cora to be refurbished soon

Just a reminder: Cat Cora's new restaurant at Disney's Boardwalk will temporarily close next week for a short refurbishment. Here you are more information directly from the Walt Disney World resort: ___________________________
Kouzzina by Cat Cora will undergo refurbishment Nov. 29-Dec. 14, reopening Wednesday, Dec. 15, 2010. Alternate dining options include a la carte breakfast at Flying Fish Cafe as well as regular dinner offerings at Disney’s BoardWalk. The pizza window will remain open during the refurbishment.  When the restaurant reopens, there will be exterior themed signage and new outdoor seating.  Inside the lobby, a special arrival awaits telling the story of Cat Cora plus a new merchandise area.  The interior of the restaurant will showcase a functioning olive oil display. ___________________________
It's nice that they're adding more seats outside. I'm curious to see how the new "themed sign" will look like.

Pollo Campero now open

A brand-new restaurant has been open some weeks ago inside DownTown Disney, and today (even if we are a bit late) we bring you some pictures of the place. It replaced a Mc Donald's, and it's actually three restaurants in one. Let's take a look at it:

Noises near Triceratops Encounter

Just a few days ago, while looking for new info about the Triceratops Encounter attraction, I heard some interesting background noises, that sound a lot like the noises we hear in the "Camp Jurassic" themed area:

This looks... I mean, sounds even more interesting. When is Universal going to announce something about this?

Dave and Buster's restaurant construction update

Here you are a quick update on the work being done inside the old "Race Rock Cafe" site that will soon be occupied by the new "Dave and Buster's" restaurant:

Tangled - Disney's 50th Animated Movie

Just yesterday I got to see Disney's newest animated movie, "Tangled" in Disney Digital 3D. It is the company's 50th animated movie, so that's a great milestone. But, how is the movie, you may ask.
Well, I think that it's really nice. It is definitely not a girls-movie, as I was afraid it might be, at first. It appeals to both males and females, and it's very adventurous, with many active and entertaining moments moments.

The story begins with Flynn Rider (the robber) that wants to tell you a story.
There was a king and a queen that were going to have a baby princess, but while the queen was pregnant, she became sick and was going to die. So the whole kingdom decided to go and look for a special flower that heals everything.

Marvel Superhero Island - What's its future?

Screamscape has posted a new update on what COULD BE the future of  Marvel Superhero Island (at IOA): ______________________________
Screamscape sources tell us that Universal management had a discussion not long ago about what the future may be for Marvel Superhero Island. Now before I get in any deeper, I’ve been told that this was simply a blue sky meeting to discuss the various ideas and ‘what if’ scenarios and nothing more. There are currently no plans to remove the Marvel themeing to the land at all, so this is all very LONG term thinking only.      So why talk about it at all?  While Universal had negotiated the rights to continue to use the Marvel universe theme for many attractions as long as they were willing to pay for them, there are periodic times when the actual cost for those terms (or for certain specific Marvel attractions) come under review and cost increases are expected to happen. From what I’ve been told, the first such renewal period will take place in 2018, roughly …

A look inside the new Disney ship

The Disney Company has released a short but very interesting video that shows some of the interiors of the company's newest cruise ship: the Disney Dream:

It already looks gorgeous. The interactive elements will sure keep the children (and you!) busy during the navigation! Do you like it so far?

Behind-the-scenes look at Winnie the Pooh

Just yesterday, the Disney Parks Blog has posted a great new update showing how the Imagineers were having fun inside the new queue of "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh". Take a look!!: ______________________________
Behind the Scenes: The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at Magic Kingdom Park

After the last guest left Magic Kingdom Park one night last week, Walt Disney Imagineers unveiled some magic. While you slept, they removed construction walls surrounding The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh and gave a first look at their amazing work.
The queue and exterior fa├žade for the classic Fantasyland attraction have been completely re-imagined. You can now enjoy a fully immersive interactive adventure through the Hundred Acre Wood that includes visits to Tigger’s Bouncy Place, Rabbit’s Garden, Eeyore’s Gloomy Place and Pooh’s Hunny Hives. Here’s a peek at the work that took place. Enjoy.

Very nice. I love the new queue (see pictures of it HE…

Triceratops Encounter update - More confirmations

Here you are a new update on the Triceratops Encounter attraction, that will reopen even sooner than what we imagined, based on what we've heard (and seen!). Of course, since NOTHING has been confirmed yet, please take them as a very strong rumor.
Anyway, let's see what's new here:

Is Hyperion Wharf just... the beginning?

Just last week, The Walt Disney Company has announced the project of converting the now-dead "Pleasure Island" into the beautiful "Hyperion Wharf". Could that be just the beginning of an even bigger project that includes a complete renovation of the entire Downtown Disney district?
Here's a rumor, reported by Screamscape: ______________________________
A Screamscape source tells me that along with the introduction of the Hyperion Wharf concept to Downtown Disney, there are also plans in the works to add a small trolley system to run along the lengthy complex, very similar to what is being added to the California Adventure park.      There are likely to be a few other changes as well down at the West End. I’m hearing that House of Blues may be planning to leave Disney property entirely in the future, in favor of setting themselves up off-site in a new location. If this happens, look for Harley Davidson to move into the former HOB digs. Meanwhile the Mouse has plans …

The Disney Look.. to the Past! (09/27 - 10/08)

Here you are this week's look at all the things that have taken place inside the Walt Disney Company: ______________________________
This Week in Disney History: Nov. 20 - Dec. 3

Nov. 22, 1991 - Walt Disney Pictures releases "Beauty and the Beast"

Nov. 21, 1992 - Walt Disney Pictures releases "Aladdin"
"Beauty and the Beast" and "Aladdin" debuted one year apart during a remarkable period for the Walt Disney Animation Studios. After a two-decade malaise that began with Walt Disney's passing, and was perpetuated by the departure of former animators to start a rival studio, Walt Disney Animation Studios created a string of films between 1984 and 1994 that captivated audiences worldwide and renewed the mass appeal of the medium. An executive shake-up empowered a stable of young filmmakers including Don Hahn, Ron Clements, John Musker, John Lasseter, Joe Ranft and Tim Burton, to stop thinking in terms of "What would Walt have done?" and …

SeaWorld and Busch Gardens raise ticket prices

Screamscape has reported that in these days both SEAWORLD Orlando and BUSCH GARDENS Tampa have raised their ticket prices. Busch Gardens' ticket now costs $3 more, while SeaWorld Orlando has raised its price by only $1. For Aquatica, the difference is only 4 cents, so that's not too bad, is it?
Here you are the updated ticket prices:
SeaWorld Orlando: $79.99 for Adults                                     $69.99 for Children 3-9.
- Aquatica: $47.99 for Adults                    $41.99 for Children.
- Busch Gardens: $77.99 for Adults                               $67.99 for Children 3-9.
Busch Gardens had the "highest" difference, obviously because they know that many people will go there, especially this year, to see the new roller coaster: Cheetah Hunt. SeaWorld Orlando will have some more visitors too, thanks to debut of a brand-new show that will replace "BELIEVE" next year. Aquatica... well, it won't have anything new (as for now, nothing has been announced…

Track installed inside Cheetah Hunt's station!

Today we wanted to share with you some new pictures of Cheetah Hunt. Here you are one of them, just to give you the idea of what they're doing right now behind the walls (Photo copyright of BGTNation. All rights are reserved):

Yes, more track is being installed, and they've put the first pieces inside the future station of the coaster! Find a lot of pictures HERE, thanks to BGTNation! They're really fast! I am sure that by June 2011 they will have this huge coaster and its animal exhibits open. The only thing I'm curious about is if they are going to theme all those columns, because they really look out-of-place right now. But judging by the beautiful artworks released by Busch Gardens, I know it will be great! What do you think? Thanks again to BGTNation for the above picture!

The story behind Pleasure Island's huge renovation

This week we've talked A LOT about the big renovation that will take place very soon, and that will end in 2013. Now, here you are the story that explains you WHY the Disney Company decided to take this big step toward this amazing project: ______________________________
How the Hyperion Wharf project became reality

When Pleasure Island opened at Downtown Disney in 1989, a gallon of gas cost 97 cents, families were gathering around the television to watch "The Cosby Show," Bobby McFerrin was singing "Don't Worry Be Happy," and "Who Framed Roger Rabbit" and "The Little Mermaid" were box office hits. Two decades later, the six-acre venue flanked by the West Side and Marketplace had become as dated as acid-washed jeans and dresses with shoulder pads.
In 2008, Walt Disney Imagineering began developing a holistic, overarching vision for all of Downtown Disney, including the redesign of Pleasure Island into a more family-friendly experience featur…

Cirque Dreams coming to BGT December 3rd, 2010

As Busch gardens Tampa announced some months ago, a new, Broadway-style show has (FINALLY!) replaced "Katonga, a musical tale of Africa". It's called "Cirque Dreams Jungle Fantasy", and will be at BGT only for a limited time. Now we have the official date of the debut of this new show.
Here's the complete article, along with some pictures, from the official SeaWorld Parks Blog: ______________________________

More news on Hyperion Wharf

The Walt Disney Company has released some more news about the new "Hyperion Wharf" Pleasure Island will be no more, as Disney announced yesterday: ______________________________
Hyperion Wharf coming to Downtown Disney District

Work soon will begin on a reimagined Pleasure Island and other one-of-a-kind experiences, as the Walt Disney World Resort continues to bring new stories to life at the Downtown Disney Area. Combined, the projects are expected to create an estimated 1,200 new jobs in Central Florida over the next three years.
"We have made great progress since first announcing our vision to bring new shopping, dining and entertainment experiences to Downtown Disney, many of which can't be found anywhere else and have already become guest favorites," said Keith Bradford, vice president of the Downtown Disney Area. "We look forward to providing even more new ways for our guests to enjoy Downtown Disney, while at the same time creating new jobs for Central F…

Disney's Animal Kingdom at dusk

Disney's Animal Kingdom is a very problematic Disney Park. In my opinion it is the one with the most potential of them all, but it is not managed very well. Since 2007, we didn't receive any major new attraction/show, and the future is not so bright either. Anyway, this park is gorgeous, especially at night. Let's take a look, shall we?:
In Africa:

Winnie the Pooh's NEW on-ride video

Here you are a great, HD on-ride video that shows you what has changed inside the rehabbed "The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh" attraction. Yes, the changes are very subtle, and the everyday guests will not notice them, but since we are insiders, let's see what's new!
Here you are a video BEFORE the refurbishment:

And here's a video AFTER the refurb:

As you can see, the narration of the ride is much louder and clearer, and some of the effects now fully work (like the ring of smoke), but a small part of the narration (where Tigger used to say "I almost bounced right out of the ride" and "Heffalumps and Woozels steal honey") is missing, but could come back.
Anyway, do you like it? I really like the ride even more now, and imagine when next week they will open the new interactive queue!!!! See you soon!

Cheetah HUNT going vertical!

Finally, after many months of hard work, the new coaster of Busch Gardens is going on its way... UP! Indeed, the coaster is going vertical!
Take a look at this picture, from

You can find a lot of pictures of it at BGTNation, by clicking here. This is going to be something great, a really nice addition to the park. What do you think?
